From One Rescue to a Lifelong Mission
Fryestone Cats began with a single rescue. When Thomas Freystone found an abandoned kitten on a rainy evening, he had no idea it would lead to a full-fledged shelter. That one act of kindness sparked a vision: to create a safe, loving space for cats who had been forgotten or left behind.
Over the years, Fryestone Cats has grown into a community-centered shelter dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming cats of all ages and needs. We’ve helped over 500 cats find new homes — and we’re just getting started.
The Heart Behind the Shelter
Thomas Freystone is the founder, caretaker, and everyday hero behind Fryestone Cats. With a background in animal behavior and a deep love for felines, Thomas left his corporate job in 2017 to devote himself fully to cat rescue work.
What started in his backyard grew into a licensed nonprofit shelter thanks to his tireless work and the support of fellow animal lovers. Thomas believes every cat is unique and deserving of dignity—and he brings that belief into every adoption, every rescue, and every mealtime.
